Photography was my initial passion, and what eventually led me to film. As a kid growing up in Rossland, I was surrounded by natural beauty and spent every day in the outdoors; the town itself is a hotbed for cinematography and photgraphy alike, as it has a vibrant community of talented visual artists and provides the ultimate backdrop with Mt Roberts looming above the minuscule downtown area.
Although I am heavily involved in the film industry and don’t spend much time specifically shooting photographs, the new RED cameras have given me the flexibility to shoot motion and stills all at once. Pulling a 5K frame from a raw file yields an amazing still frame; this is a collection of some of my favourites across all mediums, from travel photographs to commercial frame grabs.
